PR-1592 Potting and Molding Compound

A high-hardness potting, and molding compound is PR-1592. It can be used in environments between -70°F (-57°C) and 300°F (149°C). This substance is intended for uses where it must retain its electrical qualities after exposure to extreme humidity and temperatures.

PR-1592 is a two-part, chemically curing polyurethane compound. The product requires an elevated temperature to obtain optimal performance properties for the cure.

Use

PRC-DeSoto International PRC® polyurethane potting and molding materials are designed for potting electrical connectors and molding electrical cable assemblies. These polyurethane compounds are suitable where high dielectric, abrasion, flexibility, high tensile strength, and excellent hydrolytic stability are required. Note: It is important to read and understand the SDS, process specifications, and technical data sheets before working with these products.

Standard Packaging
PR-1590 comes in the following packaged configuration:

  • There are two Parts – Part A and B of the kit. They are pre-measured and placed in different containers.
  • 160 fl. oz Unit – Part A in a 1/2 gal. can and Part B in a 1 gal. can
  • 40 fl. oz Unit – Part A in a 1 pt. can and Part B in a 1 gt. can
  • It comes with premeasured mixed material that has been frozen at a very low temperature, which is known as “Premixed and Frozen” (PMF) (also shipped and stored frozen). For high consumption applications, PMF material is the most practical packaging configuration; just thaw and use.
  • PMF 11-1/4 fl. oz. of sealant in a 12 oz. cartridge
  • PMF 5-3/4 fl. oz. of sealant in a 6 oz. cartridge
  • PMF 2-1/4 fl. oz. of sealant in a 2-1/2 oz. cartridge
  • Other packaging configurations may be available.
