Description
A two-part, thixotropic, polysulfide-based void filling material, PR-1448 has outstanding adhesion, minimal shrinkage, great low-temperature flexibility, and resistance to salt water, oils, grease, and fuels. It is a compound that effectively resists pressure and fuel, and when put under 6.5 psi of pressure at 160 °F, it does not flow or extrude. Gaps and recesses can be vertically filled thanks to the excellent non-sag qualities.
The thixotropic, two-part void filler PR-1448 is based on polysulfides and has excellent adhesion, little shrinkage, remarkable low-temperature flexibility, and resistance to salt water, oils, grease, and fuels. When placed under 6.5 psi of pressure at 160 °F, the compound effectively resists fuel and pressure and does not flow or extrude. In addition, the outstanding non-sag characteristics allow for the vertical filling of gaps and recessed areas.
Storage Life
When kept at a temperature of 80°F or lower in its original, unopened containers, PR-1448 has a typical storage life of at least 6 months in a Semkit® package or can kit. When kept at -40°F or lower, PR-1448 pre-mixed and frozen cartridges have a storage life of 30 days.
The following tests have been performed in accordance with the requirements of STM-40-106B.

- Pint Kit with 17 fl. oz. of sealant
- Semkit® package - a complete package assembly that stores, mixes, and applies sealant. Semkit® packages eliminates the labor intensive task of measuring and handling materials, and prevents contamination when opening and closing can kits.
- Model 654 Semkit® with 3-1/2 fl. oz. of sealant in a 6 oz. cartridge
- Model 655 Semkit® with 2 fl. oz. of sealant in a 2-1/2 oz. cartridge
- Other packaging configurations may be available.
