Description
PR-425 is a primer to enhance the coupling characteristics of polyurethane compounds to metal surfaces. The material cures to a durable coating with excellent resistance to weathering and water.
PR-425 is a two-part epoxy compound suitable for application by brush. The material cures at temperatures down to
40 °F (5 °C).
Tested in accordance with PRC-DeSoto International specification test methods.

PR-425 is a direct replacement of PR-420 primer to enhance coupling characteristics of PR-1500 series polyurethane potting compounds to metal substrates. The material cures to a durable coating with excellent weathering, water, and corrosion resistance. PR-425 is a two-part epoxy suitable for application by brush.
Advantages for PR-425 include:
- Fully compliant with REACH and PPG Restricted Substances List
- PR-420 is not REACH compliant, whereas PR-425 is fully compliant
- Free of Lead, Chromate, and Trichloroethylene
- Higher solids and lower VOC
- PR-420 has a VOC of 462 g/L compared to a VOC of 196 g/L for PR-425
- PPG testing indicates equal performance to PR-420

- Two-Part Kit packaged with part A and part B per-measured into separate containers.
- #7 Kit - Part A in a 1 fl. oz. Bottle & Part B in a 1/2 Pint Can
- #14 Kit - Part A in a 2 Fl. oz. Bottle & Part B in a 1 Pint Can
- Other packaging configurations may be available.
