PR-1725 Aircraft Windshield/Window Sealant

PR-1725 Aircraft Windshield/Window Sealant

A two-part polysulfide liquid polymer compound called PR-1725 Class B uses a sophisticated chemical curing method. It has been specially designed for use on windshield and window applications in high-speed aircraft. It has exceptional weather resistance.

Uses

PR-1725 is a gray fillet-grade, weather-resistant sealant compatible with aircraft windshields and windows.

If you need a gray windshield sealant PR-1725 is your only option; however, from a performance standpoint, PR-1829 and PR-1425 are better choices.

Application instruction

The application’s life is when the mixed compounds remain at a consistency suitable for application with a spatula or extrusion gun. The application’s life is reported as standard conditions of 77 degrees Fahrenheit and 50% relative humidity.

Rule of thumb: for every 17°F (10°C) rise in temperature, application life is reduced approximately by half, and for every 17°F (10°C) dip, it is approximately doubled. The high humidity at the time of mixing also shortens the application’s life.

Storage life:

The PR-1725 has a storage life of 9 months when stored at a temperature below 80 degrees Fahrenheit in its original unopened container. Slight changes may occur in the compound, but they won’t affect the overall performance of the cured material.

Notes

If you need a gray windshield sealant PR-1725 is your only option, however, from a performance standpoint, PR-1829 and PR-1425 are better choices.

Standard PackagingCollapse/Expand

PR-1725 comes in the following packaged configuration:

  • Two-Part Can Kit packaged with part A and part B pre-measured into separate containers.
  • Pint Kit with 12 fl. oz. of sealant
  • Semkit® package - a complete package assembly that stores, mixes, and applies sealant. Semkit® packages eliminates the labor-intensive task of measuring and handling materials, and prevents contamination when opening and closing can kits.
  • Model 654 Semkit® with 3-1/2 fl. oz. of sealant in a 6 oz. cartridge
  • Other packaging configurations may be available.
